Design Excellence Awards Honor Mexican Riviera Project

The San Diego chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers recently held their annual Design Excellence Awards at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park. At the ceremony, local interior designers were honored for “inventive, bold and eco-friendly designs for residences, commercial projects and custom products.”

The ceremony honored projects in nine categories; winners ranged from a beachfront estate on the Mexican Riviera to a residential development in Hollywood.

In particular, Sandra Espinet, Allied Member ASID, Interiors by Sandra Espinet of San Diego, won first place in the Residential Space over 3,500 square feet category for her design of a palatial 8,000-square-foot Spanish Mediterranean beachfront villa in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. She also won second place in Product Design.
